Harry Styles’ ‘Love On Tour’ Show, What To Expect?

Harry Styles’ sold out ‘Love On Tour’ show is just days away with 80,000 excited fans ready to descend on Slane.

The 'As it Was' singer will take his place among the rock gods when he bursts on stage on Saturday evening in on of the most iconic concert venues in the world.

The key message from organisers for concertgoers is to download their digital ticket to their phones and allow up to an additional three hours travel time arriving at the site.

Amidst feverish building work at the Boyneside venue where the massive stage was under construction, Alex Conyngham, attending the meeting in place of his father, Lord Henry Mountcharles along with senior members from An Garda Síochána and concert chiefs briefed the media ahead of Saturday's hugely anticipated show.

Superintendent Noonan said: "There will be about 300 gardai working at the event as well as event security. Our aim is to keep people safe and ensure the day is enjoyed by all."

Fans preparing to travel to Slane to see the former One Direction star were advised to make sure their tickets were in order and allow plenty of travel time.

Screenshots and images of tickets will not be accepted. Also any under 16s that show up without a parent or guardian will be refused entry. Organisers urged concertgoers charge phones and bring battery packs if possible while fans were also told not begin queueing before the advertised gates open time of 2pm.

Eamonn Fox, event organiser, said public transport will be on the move for roughly 30,000 people from all over Ireland to Slane. From 7am on Saturday morning all roads leading in to Slane will be closed. There will be bus and car parks available with buses getting priority with entry to the site via the route you travelled to Slane.

At the end of the night, car parks will be emptied on rotation with MCD chief Justin Green warning that "this is part of the safety procedure and you most likely will be waiting for a long time before being allowed to exit."

As well as encouraging everybody to use public transport, concert organisers also suggest bringing reusable bottles that can be refilled at the free water points across the site.

If any issues are to arise on the day help can be found at the Customer Care Points dotted around the concert site where assistants wearing pink hi-vis jackets will be on hand.

Tag-A-Kid wristbands will be in use at the concert. As an extra precaution parents should also take a photo on the day of their child in their concert outfit.

All visitors are advised to dress accordingly to the weather, rain coat, suncream, etc. Comfortable shoes are especially important as fans can expect a 20-30 minute walk to the site.

'Come and enjoy it, relish the occasion' - Alex Conyngham welcomes a new generation of Slane concertgoer

"Having not done a gig since 2019 pre-pandemic, it's great to be back. It's lovely actually for some of the site crew here, some of whom have been working on Slane gigs for decades, and they love coming here as well. So, a lot of excitement. You know, one of the hottest artists in the world is going to be gracing this stage on Saturday.

"We've had amazing weather in the build up, let's hope that holds the weekend. So I'm really looking forward to introducing a whole new generation of fans to this amazing venue.

What drove the decision making process and bringing in an artist like Harry Styles to Slane?

"If you look at what Harry Styles has achieved as an artist, you know, this gig sold out very quickly. That's a reflection of how big a star he is. And he is the headline but there's also an amazing wealth of other talent. A lot of Irish artists on the bill this year, which is great. That's always been important for Slane but ultimately, we chose him because he's a star.

On Slane being a rite of passage, Alex was clear that good organisation and a great positive attitude was all that was required for the next generation to stake their claim on their Slane moment of magic.

"You know, for some people that might be their first concert ever. So, you know, come with a good positive attitude. You know, stay safe look after each other. If you're coming with friends, make sure you look after each other. If you get lost, the big tree is always a good meeting place. But you know, for all of the information on the gig, just go to evntzs.ie website.

"You've got all of the information you need. If you haven't organised your transport or how to get to the gig, make sure you get that well done in advance with only a few days to go. But above all else come you know, enjoy it, relish the occasion."
