WATCH: Ballydangan Wild Grouse project in action

The Ballydangan Wild Grouse project in South Roscommon has received national and international acclaim for its community-based conservation of endangered bird species.

Last year, the group's work was showcased at the COP26 Climate Action summit and draws international students to study the area's rich biodiversity, which preserves over ten thousand years of carbon in their local boglands.

Through their collaboration and knowledge sharing, the group has prevented species' decline, not only of red grouse but also the curlew.
