Former Athlone bank building up for sale

The former Ulster Bank branch building in Mardyke Street, Athlone has gone up for sale.

The Dublin-based Cushman and Wakefield auctioneers will handle the sale of the prominent premises in the town centre.

The former Ulster Bank outlet, and its ATM services, closed on April 21 last.

It was one of 63 branches as part of the Ulster Bank network countrywide which closed as part of the financial institution's exit from the Irish market.

The premises, which extends to 6,135 square feet of space, has been cleared of signage and operational equipment.
