Local dance students enjoy national success

Three locals from the Leinster School of Dance in Moate recently achieved success in the National Dance Championships in Ennis on Sunday, July 9.

Eliza Clery, Amira Reynolds and Emilie Bannon came third in the trio group category in the competition for ten to 12 year olds.

Amira also placed runner-up in the jazz category for ten to 12 year olds.

Dance teacher and owner of Leinster School of Dance, Shauna Coffey said: “The competition was tough with a high standard of competition for dance schools across the country. The judges were super successful in their field.”

“We were so proud to say that we won second place in a solo and 3rd place in a trio group dance out of the whole of Ireland.”
