Fixtures confirmed for final round of Westmeath club championships
Westmeath GAA has released its programme of fixtures for the final round of the group stages of the senior and intermediate football championships.
As expected, games involving teams in the same group will commence at the same time to prevent any sides having an advantage of knowing what they have to do to reach their targets.
The local derby clash of Athlone and Garrycastle will take place on Saturday week, August 26 in Tubberclair.
Although Garrycastle have already been demoted to the intermediate grade for next year, Athlone are still in contention for a place in the knockout stages as they seek a first senior championship win over their neighbours in several years.
Fixtures in the Junior 1, Intermediate and Senior football championships will be played over three days from August 25-27, in what should prove an intriguing weekend with plenty of issues still to be decided.
