Glasson 5k run/walk this weekend in memory of Lucy Fallon Moran
A 5km run/walk will take place in Glasson this Sunday, September 10, starting at 10am. The event is being organised by the Glasson Tubberclair Community Group and is being held in memory of Lucy Fallon Moran.
A native of Coolaleena in Glasson, Lucy, who lived in Sallins, Co. Kildare, died at a young age in February of last year.
Lucy is sadly missed by her husband Cormac, daughters Luchia and Lauren, her parents Mary and Alick, brother Paul, sister Teresa, Sharon and Joan and the rest of her extended family.
A very popular woman in many spheres of life, Lucy is fondly remembered in the wider Glasson/Tubberclair area and the proceeds of the race will go towards Glasson Tubberclair Community Group events for school age children.
Registration can be done online via the Pop Up Races website, with registration on the day available in The Villager, Glasson from 9am. The run/walk is on a flat out and back route on what is known locally as the 'Low Road'.
There will be prizes on the day for first, second and thirdm male and female. A kids’ fun race will be held after the main event.
Individual entry is €20 (excluding booking fee) and it’s €50 for a family (four tickets online but it is unlimited - if more than four, you can add them on the day). Walkers/untimed entries: €10; kids under 12: €5 (register on the day). Refreshments afterwards in The Villager.
