Roscommon Races meeting given green light to go ahead

The final meeting of the year at Roscommon Racecourse goes ahead today (Monday), following a course inspection this morning.

Heavy rain in recent days had cast doubt over the fixture, but the track has been deemed "fit for racing".

An update from Lorcan Wyer, Irish Horse Racing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Course, described the ground as "heavy, soft in paces on the chase course and soft on the hurdle and bumper course".

The meeting features an all National Hunt card, including the Grade 3 Ballymore Group Irish EBF Kilbegnet Novice Steeplechase.

The first race is set to go to post at 2.10pm.
