Athlone pupil's artwork featured at Dublin exhibition

An Athlone national school pupil was one of the talented young artists whose work was displayed at a 'Respect and Empathy' children's art exhibition in Dublin recently.

Vithun Ransika of Dean Kelly NS in Athlone was featured at the exhibition hosted by the renowned Irish artist Maser in his gallery Atelier Now in Dublin, in collaboration with the Irish Safer Internet Centre.

Vithun was named as a winner in the category of primary 1st and 2nd at the exhibition, which was on public display last Friday and Saturday.

A total of 12 individual artworks from students in Irish primary and post-primary schools were selected by Maser for the exhibition, which was based on the theme of respect and empathy online.

The artists took part in an art competition as part of Safer Internet Day (SID), and their entries were required to reflect the theme of this year’s SID, which was 'Promoting Respect and Empathy Online'.

The Irish Safer Internet Centre is a partnership between Webwise, ISPCC, National Parents Council Primary and Hotline.ie.

It provides a range of complementary online safety services, including an education and awareness centre, child and parent helplines, and a hotline.
