Penneys launches RTÉ Late Late Toy Show collection

The most magical night of the year is just around the corner and Penneys has once again partnered with RTÉ to launch this year’s Late Late Toy Show collection, featuring its much-loved family pyjama sets and accessories. Through the partnership, the retailer will donate €120,000 to support children's charities and causes around Ireland.

For many people in Ireland and across the world, the RTÉ Late Late Toy Show marks the start of the Christmas season, and this year’s collection has everything a family could need for the night, including the RTÉ Late Late Toy Show pyjamas for adults and children which have a fresh, new print in a soft, cosy material. For those new, younger viewers of the Toy Show, there is a baby sleepsuit and slippers for kids featuring the famous owl design. Back by popular demand is the Late Late Toy Show snuddie for adults and the range also includes a throw, perfect for snuggling up on the sofa ahead of the show.

The partnership, now in its 9th year, will see Penneys donate €100,000 to the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal, which is managed and distributed by Community Foundation Ireland with the aim of changing children’s lives for good. In 2022, 1.2 million children and their families benefitted from donations to the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal, with 147 grants totalling almost €4 million distributed to registered children's charities and community groups by the fund.

A further €20,000 will be donated to support Children's Health Foundation, helping sick children and their families in Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly. There will also be a special delivery of The Late Late Toy Show pyjamas for children spending the night of the Toy Show in Children’s Health Ireland hospitals and urgent care centres so they can join in on the festive fun.

Fintan Costello, Head of Penneys Ireland and Northern Ireland said: “The RTÉ Late Late Toy Show is a special night for families around Ireland and marks the beginning of the Christmas season. We’re delighted to launch this year’s range, including the much-loved pyjama sets, which for many are now part of the tradition of the night. This is the ninth year of our partnership with RTÉ and we’re proud to donate €120,000 to support Irish charities and causes this year, helping children and families nationwide.”

Hugh Kane, Interim Chief Executive of Children’s Health Foundation added: "We are delighted to be working with Penneys again this year on the lead up to the festive season. We are extremely grateful for their generous donation of €20,000 to help support the care of sick children in Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly.

"We are delighted Penneys are continuing their ongoing tradition of donating Late Late Toy Show Pyjamas for every patient in hospital on Toy Show night. Hospitals can be scary places for sick children, but donations like this help to bring moments of joy to their day. Huge thanks to Penneys for their continuous support shown to sick children and their families.’’

The new collection is on sale in Penneys stores nationwide now, while stocks last. Customers can browse the full range on the Penneys website and check availability of their favourite products using the stock-checker before heading to their preferred store.
