South Roscommon's Katie in contention for 'Best Dressed Debutante' award
A young South Roscommon woman is one of ten finalists in a national ‘Best Dressed Debutante’ competition which is entering its closing stages.
Katie Heneghan (19) from Ballyforan progressed through earlier stages of the competition and is now in the final which is open to public voting until 12 noon on Tuesday next (November 28).
Over the years Katie has been dealing with some serious health struggles and her resilience in the face of these challenges resulted in her being nominated by St Aidan’s GAA Club for a Roscommon Longford Garda Youth Award in 2021.
Katie completed her Leaving Cert at the Convent of Mercy in Roscommon this year and is now studying psychology at Ulster University.
The ‘Best Dressed Debutante’ competition is run by Debs Ireland and the overall winner will be chosen through a combination of public vote (33%), Debs Ireland vote (33%), and Assets Model Agency's vote (33%).
The overall winner will win a holiday for two to New York City and a year signed to Assets Models Agency, while the winner of the public vote will receive €300.
The other nine finalists are representing schools in Dublin (2), Carlow (2), Tipperary, Offaly, Meath, Sligo and Louth.
