Rosemount GAA allocated €42,000 towards new toilet facilities

Rosemount GAA Club is to install new toilet facilities after being awarded €42,615 in Government funding for the project.

The club was one of four in Westmeath to share in some €185,000 worth of combined grant allocations in the latest round of Clár funding.

The others included Kilbeggan Shamrocks, which received €45,000 towards upgrading its walking track surface and installing LED lights on its Astroturf facility.

Multyfarnham GAA received €50,000 for the installation of an all-weather Astro pitch, while Ballycomoyle GAA Club, in north Westmeath, received €48,763 for an outdoor play and fitness facility.

Welcoming the grant allocations, Westmeath's Minister of State Peter Burke said the funding would have "a significant impact" on the quality of the infrastructure and facilities in the clubs.

"This is another great example of funding going to the heart of our communities where local committees work tirelessly for the betterment of their clubs and communities," commented Minister Burke.

"I commend the hard-working committees who put the work in on these applications and identify projects that will benefit their members.

"Minister Humphreys was quick to remark on a recent trip to the constituency that she has the funds if we have the projects, and she has delivered on that promise here today. I look forward to seeing the clubs grow and progress with the help of this funding."
