Local credit union launches Community Support Fund

Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union (ACCU) has announced the launch of its Community Support Fund for 2024.

As a local, member-owned co-operative, ACCU has a strong commitment to supporting the local community.

As part of this commitment, local community groups in the Athlone and Castlerea areas are now invited to apply for funding to assist with projects that benefit the local community.

Speaking about the Community Support Fund, Michael Evans, CEO of Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union, said: “Social responsibility and community development are at the core of our ethos here at ACCU. So, we are delighted to now announce the launch of the community support fund, the fund allows us to continue to support the development of worthwhile projects to the benefit of our members and the local community in which we live and work.”

The Community Support Fund 2024 is now open for applications to January 8 and local community, cultural, charity and sports groups may apply for funding to assist with significant development.

Application forms can be downloaded from www.accu.ie or picked up from any of the credit union's offices in Irishtown, Monksland (Athlone) or Castlerea and must be returned, along with any supporting documentation, to communitysupportfund@accu.ie by January 8.
