Duggan set for Roscommon debut after switching allegiances
Jack Duggan is poised to make his competitive debut for Roscommon in their FBD Connacht League quarter-final against Sligo tonight (Friday).
Clonguish attacker Duggan has transferred from Longford to play with the county of his father Derek, a former Roscommon star renowned for his freetaking prowess.
There are three Padraig Pearses representatives in the Roscommon defence, with young players Caelim Keogh and Declan Kenny given a chance to impress, alongside established star Niall Daly.
2023 All-Star Enda Smith is included in the team at midfield, where he will be partnered by Keith Doyle of St Dominic's.
Roscommon will be captained for the 2024 season by Diarmuid Murtagh, whose brother Ciaráin has opted out of inter-county action for this year.
With St Brigid's and Castlerea St Kevin's both in All-Ireland semi-final action this weekend, obviously no players from those two clubs will be involved against Sligo.
The Connacht GAA Dome in Bekan, Co. Mayo is the venue for the Roscommon vs Sligo clash (throw-in 7pm), and the winners will meet Mayo or London in the semi-finals on January 13.
