Local fundraising 'wrenboys' raise €652 for Temple Street

While most of us were sitting back watching movies and playing board games over Christmas, a South Roscommon family were busy raising funds for Temple Street Children's Hospital!

Aoibh, Éanna, Mollie and Tadhg Kelly from Kilmacormack, Drum decided to keep the age-old Irish tradition of 'hunting the wren' alive on St. Stephen's Day and as well as entertaining family, friends and neighbours with their traditional music, they used it as an opportunity to raise some much-needed funds for Temple Street Children's Hospital.

With a little help from Dad, Patrick, and with Mum, Sarah, also on hand, the kind-hearted Kelly kids set up a GoFundMe page 'Raising for Temple Street' and asked for donations "to help all the sick children that have to visit" the Dublin hospital.

The fundraiser set a target of €300 but it more than doubled that amount by raising a whopping €652 which was transferred directly to Children's Health Foundation Temple Street last week.

Well done to Aoibh, Éanna, Mollie and Tadhg for thinking of those less fortunate than themselves over the festive season.
