Westmeath's Murphy makes cut for cross country international

Michael Murphy from Kilbeggan has been selected to represent Ireland on the Under-23 team for the Celtic Cross Country International.

The Tullamore Harriers athlete will be making his international debut which is a significant achievement.

It's a well deserved honour, following on from his outstanding performance at the National Novice Cross Country Championships in Navan, where Michael took the national title early last month.

The annual cross country international fixture, which is being held in Renfrew, Scotland this year, will feature U17, U20 and U23 teams. It will take place this Saturday, January 13.

Tullamore Harriers congratulates Michael on his selection and wishes him the best of luck in the upcoming competition on the international stage.
