St Brigid's now seeking new manager as Stack steps down

All-Ireland finalists St Brigid's will have a new manager for the rest of 2024 after the decision of Jerome Stack to step down as manager.

Stack led St Brigid's to Roscommon and Connacht success in 2023, and the Kiltoom men came agonisingly close to winning the All-Ireland senior club title at Croke Park last Sunday.

Derry champions Glen had to battle back from a four-point deficit in order to land the Andy Merrigan Cup in a thrilling decider (2-10 to 0-12).

A native of Listowel in Kerry, Stack lives in Adare and the journey from his Limerick base to Kiltoom must have been a factor in his decision to leave the post.

Having won their 18th Roscommon senior crown last year, St Brigid's will defend the title under a different manager in 2024.

St Brigid's GAA released a statement on social media this afternoon confirming Stack's departure.

"Our club senior team manager Jerome Stack has decided to step down. Jerome has been at the helm as manager for the last two years, guiding us to the All-Ireland final last Sunday.

"Jerome has brought a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience to our team which brought us on a brilliant journey this year and saw our players bring that level of performance to Croke Park last Sunday," said the statement.

"We know the players will benefit greatly in the future from Jerome’s time with St Brigid's and his driven and meticulous work ethic.

"St Brigid’s executive would sincerely like to thank Jerome for all his hard work, dedication and commitment to the club as manager. We would also like to extend our thanks to Jerome’s management and backroom team for their dedication over the past two years. Wishing Jerome, the very best of luck in his future endeavours," the statement added.
