Buccs in need of points as trip to Old Wesley awaits

Buccaneers travel to Dublin on Saturday where they face Old Wesley in the latest round of the Energia All-Ireland League. Kick off for this Division 1B game at Energia Park is 2.30pm.

Teams are now entering the final straight of this season’s campaign with just six fixtures remaining.

The Pirates dearly need to start transferring close calls into wins and will be hoping they can make it a double over the city side.

Old Wesley have had an inconsistent season but on the 4G surface at Donnybrook they will be favourites, especially as they come in to this game on the back of three impressive victories.

Meanwhile, the Athlone side will be hoping that key trio Danny Qualter, Stephen Mannion and Frank Hopkins will be fit to resume active service.

Buccaneers are currently bottom of the Division 1B table and will be hoping to keep the threat of relegation at bay in the coming weeks.

Old Wesley are sixth of the ten teams in this division but they would be in a better position, had they not been deducted three points for a breach of the international player clearance process.
