Volunteers wanted in Athlone area for Daffodil Day

Daffodil Day is now less than a month away, and the organisers in Athlone are looking for volunteers to help out on Friday, March 22.

People are required for two-hour slots to man stands selling daffodils, pins, etc throughout the Athlone area for the Irish Cancer Society's flagship fundraiser.

Anyone who can help out should call or text Mary 087 666 6687.

Daffodil Day is the Irish Cancer Society's biggest fundraising event of the year. The money raised helps to provide free services and support to cancer patients and their families across Ireland.

Among the supports it funds includes cancer nurses to run helplines or offer support in 13 Daffodil Centres nationwide, counselling services, night nursing, research and the drive project bringing thousands of patients to hospital appointments.
