Local pharmacy bids farewell to Mardyke Street outlet

After 25 years, Concannon's totalhealth Pharmacy, Athlone bids farewell to its Mardyke Street outlet today, (Friday, February 23) as it merges operations in one location at their other chemist beside SuperValu on the Ballymahon Road.

“After 25 wonderful years, we are excited (and at the same time apprehensive and a bit lonely) to announce that we are merging Concannon’s Pharmacy in Mardyke St with Concannon’s pharmacy Ballymahon Rd beside SuperValu and Costa coffee,” the local business announced in a post online.

“While we say goodbye to our Mardyke St location, we look forward to continuing to look after you out at our other pharmacy. Thank you so much for your unwavering support and loyalty over the years.

“All our lovely staff will be joining the Ballymahon road Concannon’s pharmacy team and will be on hand to greet you in Ballymahon Rd,” the post on social media earlier this month explained.

It ended by thanking the public for the last 25 years in Mardyke Street, expressing hopes that they are in the new location for the next 25 years.
