Ballinahown NS prepares to host St Patrick’s Day Big Breakfast

Ballinahown NS will host its 2024 Big Breakfast on St Patrick’s Day in Ballinahown Community Hall.

A key event in the local social calendar, the Big Breakfast is organised by the Parents’ Association of Ballinahown NS and will be held on Sunday, March 17, from 9am until 12.30pm.

Elaine and Leigh Denby from A Slice of Life are once again on board to cater the event, which promises to be a great morning with full Irish breakfasts being served to the community for just €10 per adult and €5 per child.

A bake sale will also be held on the morning, with a range of delicious freshly baked goods supplied by parents.

Principal of Ballinahown NS Tom Keena said: “When we held our first Big Breakfast fundraiser in 2013, we never could have imagined how much of a success it would become. It is a great social occasion for the whole community and it’s great to see the same people coming back each year to support our school. As well as enjoying a great breakfast, it is a great way for families and friends to get together.”

“It is also the school’s main fundraiser every year, ensuring we can subsidise field trips, tours and matches for the children and enhance the school’s resources and facilities,” Mr Keena added. “We are all looking forward to another successful event this St Patrick’s Day.”

The parents’ association is grateful to all of the sponsors of the Big Breakfast, whose generous support makes the event possible. Any local businesses or people who would like to provide sponsorship this year can contact the parents’ association.

We look forward to welcoming as many of the local community as possible to Ballinahown Hall on St Patrick’s Day from 9am until 12.30pm to celebrate our national holiday.
