Glendeer Pet Farm and Viking Tours Ireland to host events as part of Roscommon Easter Festival

Glendeer Pet Farm and Viking Tours Ireland will hold some exciting events as part of Roscommon Easter Festival which will take place over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend from March 30 to March 31.

Announcing the return of the annual Roscommon Easter Festival, and the newly updated ‘Roscommon Walks & Trails’ booklet featuring 25 picturesque destinations, Roscommon is brimming with seasonal activities, trails, cycleways, rich history, culture, and captivating experiences just waiting to be discovered.

Kicking off Saturday, March 30, the annual Roscommon Easter Festival, presented by the Roscommon Easter Parade Committee and supported by local businesses and Roscommon County Council, will delight visitors with festivities across the county.

Glendeer Pet Farm's Egg Hunt will take place on Easter Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at 3pm. Explore the indoor toddler area, navigate through the timber maze, and conquer the double obstacle course sand barn. Plus, don't miss the opportunity to meet Spring's adorable newborn animals up close. It's a delightful day out for the whole family, filled with fun and furry friends.

Locals will also be able to step back 1,200 years and join Vikings Tours Ireland on a replica Viking Ship. Cruise up the River Shannon to Lough Ree or down river to the monastic settlement and round towers of Clonmacnoise whilst hearing live commentary on Viking hoards, the beauty of the river, its flora, fauna, bird and fish life. The Daily Lough Ree Cruise recommences from March 23.

In Roscommon town on Sunday, March 31, visitors can catch Lady Betty’s performance in the town square before the magical Roscommon Easter Parade sets off at 12.30pm. With amusements, street performers, face painting, and exciting prizes to be won, it’s bound to be an egg-citing weekend for all.

But the magic doesn't stop there, Visit Roscommon launches its updated ‘Roscommon Walks & Trails’ booklet just in time for spring, featuring information and maps for 25 trails across the county. From leisurely strolls to challenging hikes, Roscommon boasts an abundance of trails suitable for all ages, interests, and abilities.
