Local star Heather models new Everton shirt paying tribute to Seamus Coleman
Local soccer star Heather Payne is helping to promote a new Everton shirt which was designed as a tribute to Seamus Coleman's 15 years of service at Goodison Park.
Ballinasloe's Heather (24), who is a key player with the Everton and Ireland women's teams, modelled the limited-edition Shamrock jersey created by hummel in conjunction with Everton's official retail partner, Fanatics.
The warm-up shirt, which incorporates squad number 23, celebrates Seamus Coleman's recent achievement in becoming Everton's record Premier League appearance maker.
With St Patrick’s Day approaching, the green and blue warm-up top - which carries a bespoke pattern of shamrocks – has now gone on sale.
"We're honoured to celebrate a player of Seamus Coleman’s stature with this design, which features a unique shamrock pattern, the Club’s modern Tower crest, and Seamus’s iconic number 23," said Allan Vad Nielsen, hummel CEO.
"With the integration of Ireland's signature green as the primary colour, complemented by the Club's classic blue, our intention is to pay tribute to one of the most popular players in the club's history.
"We hope fans will wear this warm-up jersey with pride, uniting with us in celebrating Seamus's incredible journey at Goodison."
Heather Payne has a big couple of months ahead for club and country, with Ireland getting their European championship qualifying campaign underway with games against France (away) and England (home) in early April.
