Concern senior debating success

Congratulations to the Coláiste Chiaráin Senior Debating team who have made it through to the semi finals of the Concern Debates, defeating Largy College, Monaghan.

The debate took place in the Concern Headquarters in Dublin on Tuesday, March 12.

The team successfully defeated the motion that “Ending world hunger is possible in our lifetime”. Speakers on the day were Keela Plunkett, Antoni Wawrzyniak, Éle McCarthy and Aimee Plunkett. They were assisted by team members Leah Dunne and Aaron Hurley.

A special word of appreciation to Mr Joe Cogavin who mentored the students in preparing for the debate.
