Roscommon ladies head for Birr in chase of league crown

Roscommon Ladies footballers will travel to Birr in Offaly for this weekend's Lidl Ladies National Football League Division 3 final.

Roscommon, who went through the seven-game league campaign undefeated, will meet Clare in the final with throw in at Grant Heating St Brendan's Park on Saturday.

Roscommon had dramatic conclusions to both their last two league campaigns.

Having secured the win to secure promotion against Offaly in their penultimate league game, thanks to a penalty save by keeper Helena Cummins in the dying moments, Roscommon preserved their unbeaten record with another last gasp win over Antrim in the final round of league games.

Now they will face Clare, in the league decider, with the Banner County's only defeat in the league campaign coming against the Rossies.

The Clare v Roscommon game which throws in at 4pm on Saturday is part of a double header with Carlow and Limerick competing for the Division 4 title at 2pm.

The Division 3 and 4 finals double-header at St Brendan’s Park sees adult tickets priced €15, Students/OAPs €5, U18s €2 and under 12s go free.

Meanwhile in Croke Park on Sunday, the Division 1 and 2 finals are taking place.

The Croke Park finals double-header on Sunday throws in at 2pm with Kildare and Tyrone facing off in the Division 2 decider while the Division 1 final between Armagh and Kerry gets underway at 4pm.
