Our Sports Photo of the Day comes from Croke Park and the National Football League Division 3 final, in which Westmeath produced a wonderful performance to topple pre-match favourites Down, 2-10 to 0-13.

Jonathan Lynam, an unsung hero in many quarters, grabbed a couple of crucial goals, scores that ensured the Lake County held sway at the finish. Here, Lynam times his run to perfection and rises highest in the square to flick home the opening goal in the 28th minute.

Both Lynam and Sam McCartan, the official Man of the Match, have been selected on the GAA's Team of the Week.
