Athlone Town's clash with Peamount set for TG4 coverage

Athlone Town's clash at home to reigning league champions Peamount United in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division will be televised live on TG4 tomorrow night (Saturday).

Athlone defeated Peamount 3-0 in the President's Cup match in early March, the goals coming from Monksland native Chloe Singleton (two) and Casey Howe. That victory saw FAI Cup champions Athlone retain the President's Cup, but Peamount will be aiming to turn the tables on this occasion.

At present, Athlone are fifth in the league table on four points, with Peamount second on six points. But with both sides having played only three games each so far, it's very much early days in the campaign. Galway United are top of the table with three wins from three fixtures.

For the fourth successive season, TG4 will bring live coverage of the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division to a national audience, starting this Saturday night when the TV cameras will be in Athlone Town Stadium (kick-off 7.35pm).

Through Spórt TG4’s Sacar Beo programme, eight different clubs will be part of the first set of live fixtures selected.

TG4's coverage of the Athlone vs Peamount game will be followed by Cork City vs Treaty United on Saturday, May 4; Shamrock Rovers vs Galway United on May 25; and DLR Waves v Bohemians on June 29. All those games have kick-off times of 7.35pm.

Athlone Town Stadium hosted a launch to promote these fixtures yesterday (Thursday), with Jesi Rossman of Athlone Town among the players in attendance.
