LISTEN: Athlone songwriter gets RTÉ recommendation for new single

Gifted Athlone singer-songwriter Ellen O'Meara has released a new single which has been included on the 'RTÉ Radio One Recommends' list for the last two weeks.

Body Issues is the name of the song by the Mount Temple native, and it has been placed alongside recent releases by artists such as Hozier and The Libertines on the RTÉ Recommends list for the weeks starting April 5 and April 12.

The single is the third to be released by Ellen, following on from Start Again and Stuck, both of which came out last year.

As with her previous releases, Body Issues displays her talent for wry observation and bracing emotional honesty.

"I don't want to waste my life trying to fit myself into / the shape of somebody else who probably hates their body too," she sings.

The song has attracted plenty of attention on TikTok and has also been included on the Spotify playlist, 'A Breath of Fresh Éire'.
