Athlone tea party fundraiser for Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association

Traveller Mediation Service (TMS), in association with Athlone Community Taskforce (ACT), is hosting a fundraising event for Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association on Thursday.

The 'Drink Tea for Motor Neurone Disease Tea Party Fundraiser’ is an initiative organised by the staff of TMS to support the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association Ireland (IMNDA). This event is not only a gathering for a cause but also a beacon of hope for over 450 individuals in Ireland diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), including their good friends Gerard Tracey and Ollie Johnson.

MND is a debilitating condition that progressively impairs the motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle deterioration and paralysis. The IMNDA has been instrumental in providing essential services such as access to the country's only six specialised MND nurses, and home care grants, The association also offers invaluable counselling services to patients and their families.

The tea party aims to raise funds that will directly contribute to sustaining these vital services. The fundraiser takes place on Thursday, April 25, from 11am to 3pm, at the ACT building on Ball Alley Lane, Parnell Square, Athlone.
