Athlone escape room announces its closure

EXIT Athlone escape rooms, on Church Street, has announced its closure due to 'personal reasons.'

Taking to social media to share the news, Owner, Pawel Wasiak, said: "We regret to inform you that our doors will soon be closed. For personal reasons, we will not be able to continue running Exit Athlone, so with a heavy heart we have decided to sell our beloved place."

He added that this was a "good opportunity" for anyone wanting to enter the escape room industry.

"Exit is the only place of its kind in Westmeath and Athlone is famous for hen/stag parties and student life. For over eight years we have managed to build a good brand, as evidenced by the reviews of our dear guests."

The current owner is hoping that someone will take over the business who loves escape rooms as much as they do.

"The money we are looking for is not excessive and includes not only equipment but also a working reservation system, domain and rights to the website and social media, but also a lot of heart and time.

"There isn't a specific date set for the closure yet," said Pawel. "I will be consulting with my accountant next week about next steps. Everything is still being prepared for closing and the date depends on several factors."

EXIT Athlone operates a selection of unique, stimulating creativity escape rooms. The games and themes are designed for different audiences and ages regardless of whether visitors prefer mysterious and scary atmosphere games or strategy games.
