Moate psychotherapist receives regional award

Anita Lynch of Moate was honoured with the Midlands Regional Award by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy at its 9th Annual Conference held recently.

The IACP Regional Awards recognise an IACP accredited member who makes a notable contribution to the profession of counselling and psychotherapy in their local community and region.

Ms Lynch is a psychotherapist in private practice, working with couples, adults and adolescents, specialising in childhood sexual abuse. She holds a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Notre Dame in Western Australia and an MS in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy from IICP.

Séamus Sheedy, Cathaoirleach of the IACP praised Anita’s commitment to the highest standards in the profession: “I would like to congratulate Anita Lynch, our Midlands Regional Award recipient for her commitment to best practice in our profession. Anita is passionate about ethical practice and nurturing student therapists and helping them along their journeys so they can ultimately provide a positive counselling experience to clients.”

Anita Lynch stated: “I was delighted to attend the national conference of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, where I’m an accredited member. I'm still buzzing from the surprise and honour of being chosen by the Midlands Committee and approved by the Board of IACP for their Midlands Regional Award. I am grateful to the Midlands Committee for their nomination and recognition. It's truly humbling to be acknowledged for ‘maintaining a high standard of practice and an example for others to be followed’.”

Ms Lynch continued: “I've poured my heart and soul into establishing a thriving practice grounded in ethics and integrity, and to have this affirmed by my peers is incredibly validating. Congratulations to all the deserving award recipients, and a huge thank you to the IACP team for a memorable conference!.”

The Midlands Regional Award was presented at the IACP’s 9th Annual Conference recently in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Sligo.
