Planning bid lodged for 27-metre telecom mast in Glasson
A planning application was lodged recently for a 27-metre telecommunications mast in Glasson.
The proposed structure would be located at Pearsonsbrook, approximately a mile from Glasson village.
On Tower Ireland Limited, with a registered address at Sandyford Industrial Estate in Dublin, is the company which lodged the planning application with Westmeath County Council on May 21.
A letter of consent from the landowner was submitted as part of the planning application, along with a letter of support from the telecommunications giant Three.
"Three Ireland are interested in locating equipment onto this structure, to provide improved mobile and wireless broadband coverage to the Glasson area," it said.
Westmeath County Council is due to decide on the planning application by July 15.
This planning bid is separate from another mast proposal in the area, which involves an 18-metre mast at the the Eir exchange on the Ballymahon Road, between Glasson village and Tubberclair GAA Club.
