Chamber hosts public forum with Pearse Doherty

As part of its ongoing Public Forum Sessions, Athlone Chamber of Commerce recently hosted TD Pearse Doherty, the finance spokesperson for Sinn Féin, at a highly anticipated event in the Sheraton Athlone Hotel. Deputy Doherty provided an in-depth overview of what businesses can expect if Sinn Féin forms part of the next Government. Key issues such as housing, infrastructure, and taxation were prominently discussed.

The event, sponsored by Westmeath County Council, attracted a strong turnout which listened intently to Deputy Doherty’s insights about policy directions. Also on the panel was Henry Joyce, a respected economist from TUS, who engaged Deputy Doherty in discussion, probing into various areas of Sinn Féin policy. This interaction added a layer of depth to the discourse, offering attendees a comprehensive understanding of the potential economic landscape under a Sinn Féin led Government.

Ronan Berry of Midlands 103 expertly moderated the event, ensuring a balanced and productive dialogue between the speakers and the audience.
