Pipe burst affecting water supply to area of Athlone

A burst watermain is affecting the water supply to Garrycastle and surrounding areas of Athlone today (Wednesday), Uisce Éireann has reported.

The utility shared details of the issue on social media shortly after noon today.

It said the repair works being carried out in Garrycastle were currently due to continue until 6.15pm.

Uisce Éireann added that homes and businesses in the area should "allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time" for their supply to fully return.
