Free seminar on women and diversity in local politics

Roscommon County Council and See Her Elected (SHE) is hosting a free information seminar in the Athlone Springs Hotel this evening (Tuesday, April 8) which is aimed at increasing the participation of women and diversity in local government.

Women who are considering a role in local politics are advised to come along to the seminar, which gets underway at 7.30pm, to hear about the importance and role of local government and how it supports, empowers and delivers for communities.

The event is designed to support and encourage female participation in all areas of local government and the contributions of persons from diverse backgrounds.

A free shuttle bus service will be provided for each of the sessions with local drop-on/drop off points by prior arrangement.

The campaign is supported by Roscommon Women's Network - RWN who have collaborated with Roscommon County Council on previous initiatives supporting women and diversity.
