Local student wins Best Tailoring at sustainable fashion awards
Our Lady's Bower student Vivienne Cleary was awarded Best Tailoring in the Eastern - Midlands Awards at the Relove Fashion Grand Final recently.
The event took place on April 30 at the Rediscovery Centre in Dublin.
Relove Fashion is and Award-Winning sustainable fashion competition for young people aged 12 to 19 in Ireland, and challenges secondary school students to explore creative reuse options such as upcycling, repairs, alterations and mending, inspiring them to take a closer look at how their clothing is made.
By giving students an opportunity like this to showcase their creativity while promoting sustainable fashion practices, the competition encourages a shift towards a more circular and sustainable economy.
Other Our Lady's Bower finalists included Akshaya amd Christli. Students were offered support and guidance from Ms Tormey.
