Ukrainian artist to present first solo art exhibition in Athlone

Ukrainian artist Valeriia Poliushko will present her first solo art exhibition in Athlone Library.

Opening on May 29 at 5:30 pm at the Atrium, Athlone Library, the exhibition includes a series of urban landscapes of Athlone, as well as broader scenes of Irish nature, offering visitors a chance to rediscover familiar places.

Now based in Ireland, Valeriia brings a unique perspective to local landscapes, many of which have been transformed into atmospheric oil paintings.

In this exhibition, Valeriia aims to introduce viewers to the diversity of her artistic practice — showcasing works in various styles and techniques, created with different materials.

“My art is created to bring warmth and comfort to the hearts of viewers,” Valeriia said, who blends realism with decorative elements in her work.

The exhibition is free and open to the public. The local community is warmly invited to attend the opening evening.
