Seeger Sessions tribute to bring folk revival to Athlone
The Seeger Sessions Revival, a 13-piece band celebrating the spirit and sound of Bruce Springsteen’s iconic folk project, will perform at the Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone on Friday, June 6.
With a joyous fusion of folk, Americana, gospel, and heartland rock, the band has been winning over audiences across Ireland and the UK.
Their recent run of shows – including major appearances in Belfast's Ulster Hall, Celtic Connections Glasgow, and Derry – has earned them a growing reputation as one of the most exhilarating live acts on the road today.
Inspired by Springsteen’s 2006 album We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions - a tribute to legendary American folk icon Pete Seeger - the band brings these timeless songs to life with raucous brass, rollicking banjo, soaring fiddle, and boundless energy.
The result is a unique live experience that captures the spirit of American folk music through the lens of one of its greatest modern interpreters.
Audiences in Athlone can expect an unforgettable night of music, storytelling, and celebration, with powerful performances of songs like 'Old Dan Tucker', 'Jesse James', and 'Pay Me My Money Down'.
Whether you're a devoted Springsteen fan, a folk music lover, or simply seeking an uplifting night of live entertainment, The Seeger Sessions Revival promises a show full of passion, soul, and toe-tapping joy.
