Studio vacancy at Abbey Road Artists' Studios in Athlone
Athlone Arts and Tourism is now accepting studio residency applications for Abbey Road Artists’ Studios, a resource for visual artists of all disciplines in the heart of Athlone.
The studio is available immediately for short-term rent up to August 24 next.
Abbey Road Artists’ Studios consist of four individual artists’ studios. Individual studios range in size from 16 to 20 square meters.
These non-residential studios are fully equipped with power, heating, water, and Wi-Fi. Studio members can avail of 24-hour studio access and free parking on-site.
Abbey Road Artists’ Studios is strongly linked to its sister venue Luan Gallery. The gallery and company staff work to help support the professional development of the studio artists occupying Abbey Road Artists’ Studios.
Resident artists are encouraged to engage with the gallery's programming activities and support events happening in the community space at Abbey Road Artists' Studios.
The Boardwalk Space in Luan Gallery may be used to showcase the work of studio artists and community groups at various times throughout the year.
Application Procedure
Applications should be made in PDF format and submitted by email to info@luangallery.ie, no later than Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
Applications must include:
1) Cover letter, to include: Details of proposed use of studio space; Length of time for which studio is sought, e.g. up to a maximum period of the 24th August 2025.
2) Current Artist CV
3) Current Artist’s Statement (max 200 words)
4) Images of work - up to 5 images
Artist Selection
All applications will be placed before a selection panel, which will make recommendations on the allocation of studios to artists. Final approval of allocations rests with Athlone Arts & Tourism Ltd.
The panel relies solely on the information supplied in the applications received. The panel reserves the right to shortlist artists on the basis of applications received and to call artists for an interview if deemed necessary. The panel reserves the right to have a shortlist of artists in place should studios become available at short notice.
