Ian Ryan announced as Athlone head coach

A new head coach has been announced for Athlone Town's men's team.

The news was shared on the club's official Facebook page tonight.

The post said:

"Athlone Town AFC are delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Ryan as the new head coach for the men's first team. Ian Ryan brings a wealth of managerial experience to the position having previously worked at Wexford and Bray Wanderers in the same role. Alongside his managerial experience, he always brings with him a huge awareness of the league having a playing career which lasted a decade from 2005 to 2015, playing with the likes of Shelbourne, Drogheda, and Shamrock Rovers.

"We'd like to thank everyone for their patience during the recruitment process and we wish Ian Ryan the best of luck in his role!"
