Maria Walsh launches Yoga Picnic 2025
Ireland’s leading yoga and wellness festival returns to Lough Ennell on July 5
MEP Maria Walsh officially launched The Yoga Picnic 2025 at the weekend, celebrating its return to Lilliput House on July 5. As a champion of women in leadership, Ms Walsh’s presence highlighted the significance of this female-founded, grassroots festival in Ireland’s growing wellbeing and creative industries.
The 2025 festival welcomes a line-up of internationally renowned teachers, including Hannah Barrett (UK), Lara Heimann (US), Manasi Sridhar (India), Adam and Holly Husler (UK), Michael James Wong (US), and Celeste Pereira (South Africa).
From power yoga and functional movement to sound healing, meditation, and breathwork, each teacher brings a unique style and global perspective.
The Yoga Picnic will also celebrate some of Ireland’s most inspiring voices, including Mari Kennedy, Lou Horgan, spoken word artist Laura Murphy, and meditation teacher Sinéad Mooney. More names will be announced in the coming weeks.
For the second year, The Yoga Picnic is first festival in Ireland to power all of its tents and sound systems using Kia Ireland’s electric vehicles. This innovative use of Kia’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology significantly reduces the need for diesel generators, cutting emissions and setting a new standard for sustainable event planning in Ireland.
Founded by Mary Gardiner, Alice Harrison, and Katy Harrison, friends, business owners, and yoga teachers, The Yoga Picnic was born from a shared dream to create a space where people could reconnect through movement, nature, and community.
“Having MEP Maria Walsh launch The Yoga Picnic means so much to us,” said Katy Harrison. “Her support highlights the value of wellbeing in Irish life and the importance of female-led projects like ours being recognised at a national and European level.”
