Westmeath team confirmed ahead of Tailteann Cup quarter-final clash
Westmeath senior football manager Dermot McCabe has made two changes to his starting team for the Tailteann Cup quarter-final game against Wicklow in Echelon Park Aughrim on Sunday, throw-in 1.15pm.
Jack Geoghegan has been listed to start in the full back line in place of Danny Scahill while Brian Guerin replaces Eoghan McCabe at centrefield.
Westmeath travel to the Garden County with renewed optimism and vigour following their comprehensive defeat of Laois in the preliminary quarter-final on Sunday last in TEG Cusack Park Mullingar.
Opponents Wicklow topped their round robin group with victories over Laois and Waterford, their sole loss in the competition coming in their opening fixture against Offaly.
The counties most recent meeting was in 2024 when Wicklow stunned Westmeath in the opening round of the Leinster senior football championship, one week on from the Lake County's Allianz National Football League final success over Down in Croke Park.
Former St Brigids and Roscommon senior footballer Frankie Dolan is a member of the Wicklow management team.
