Final push for GAA’s Win a Home in Spain draw

Westmeath GAA’s Win a Home in Spain draw suffered a blow at the weekend as the senior footballers bowed out of the Tailteann Cup against Wicklow.

The draw could have done with the county’s flagship football side getting to Croke Park in order to help boost sales.

However, there is still a chance to win a stunning two-bedroom apartment in sunny Spain plus €50,000 cash for those who enter the draw, which takes place on June 30. The Win A Home In Spain draw offers an eye-catching prize and it might just be a gift to suit any occasion, including birthdays and anniversaries.

A luxury apartment in the beautiful Murcia Region of southeast Spain is on offer to the winner. Nestled in the exclusive Condado de Alhama resort, this property offers the best of Mediterranean living – private pool, golf course on your doorstep, and year-round sunshine. Whether you’re dreaming of swapping Irish showers for Spanish sunshine, or garden tools for golf clubs, this is your ticket to a new life.

The draw takes place at the end of the month, and tickets are €100. Enter now at www.winahomeinspain.com. County teams need new facilities and there’s more to this initiative than sun and sangria. The draw is a key fundraiser for Westmeath GAA, with proceeds going towards the development of a brand-new, state-of-the-art training facility in Mullingar.

This home for Westmeath GAA – supporting all codes including football, hurling, LGFA, and camogie – will feature six pitches, dressing rooms, a gym, medical centre, auditorium, and parking, all close to the existing 3G pitch at Lakepoint Park.

“This is not just a centre of excellence,” said County Committee Chairman Frank Mescall. “That’s a grandiose term. I prefer to call it a home for Westmeath GAA – a base for everyone, in every code. We now need modern facilities for all our teams, and this development will give us just that.”

Mescall also acknowledged the fundraising challenges and urged clubs to get creative. “I’m cognisant that €100 is a big ask, but you can go into partnership with family members. Club Iarmhí sold ten tickets through a €5-per-line draw, for example. Clubs are the guardians of Westmeath GAA and need to support this project.”

Some clubs have already sold their ticket allocations, others are still on the journey – but there’s still time. With only two weeks to go, momentum is building. So don’t miss out – be part of something special, and give yourself the chance to win the keys to a new home under the Spanish sun.
