Clann na Gael offering free heart screening to young members
Clann na Gael GAA is offering free heart screening to young GAA and LGFA members of the club this Friday, June 20.
The South Roscommon club has partnered with the Dillon Quirke Foundation to raise awareness of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) and provide heart screening for players aged 13-17.
The clubhouse in Johnstown will host the heart screenings which will be conducted by an Advanced Medical Services team.
With limited spaces available players are encouraged to register for their free heart screening at https://bookings.ameds.ie/booking/from-code?code=clan25
The Dillon Quirke Foundation was established in honour of the former Tipperary senior hurler who collapsed during a club hurling match and died of SADS in August 2022.
On average, Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) takes 100 young lives in Ireland every year.
