Roscommon records provisional highest temperature of the year
The provisional highest temperature of the year so far has been recorded in Co. Roscommon this afternoon.
Met Éireann said today that a temperature of 27°C had been recorded at Mount Dillon in Roscommon, although this is provisional at the moment and needs to be verified.
It beats the previous highest temperature of 25.9 °C recorded at Athenry on April 30.
The high temperatures are expected to continue in the coming days, with the national weather forecaster predicting highest temperatures of 28°C for Athlone tomorrow, with lows of 17°C.
Both Moate and Knockcroghery can expect highest temperatures of 27°C and lows of 16°C tomorrow, according to Met Éireann.
