Athlone auctioneer appointed to key representative body role

An Athlone auctioneer has been appointed Junior Vice-President of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers & Valuers (IPAV).

Liam Quain, Liam Quain Principal at Sherry Fitzgerald Quain, located on Mardyke Street, was appointed to the position at the organisation's annual business conference at Farnham Estate Spa & Golf Resort, Cavan.

The conference was addressed by Peter Burke, TD Minister for Enterprise, Tourism & Employment, who told the conference that the Government would publish its updated housing plan by the end of July.

IPAV has called for emergency planning laws for a period of time to stimulate housing supply until the measures in the recent Planning and Development Act take effect.
