Athlone criminal damage incident under investigation

Gardai in Athlone are currently carrying out an investigation into an incident of criminal damage in the town.

A statement from the Garda Press Office confirmed that gardai had received a report of an incident of criminal damage that occurred in Athlone on Saturday last, June 28, at approximately 11pm.

The incident is understood to have taken place in the Ashdale housing development, and involved the smashing of a number of windows of a motor vehicle.

"Enquiries are ongoing" according to gardai.
