Westmeath finish second in All-Ireland Clay Pidgeon shooting

A Westmeath team has secured second place at the National Clay Pidgeon Shooting Championships in Esker grounds, Galway.

The Lake County representatives finished on 462 points, just 14 behind the winners, Wexford. There were 27 counties involved and it was a fine achievement to feature in such a prominent position at the end of such a challenging event.

Clay pigeon shooting may be a niche sport in the county, but Westmeath has secured a couple of second place finishes and there are members who have been involved for many years. This is due recognition for their efforts.
