Met Eireann issues high temperature warning for Westmeath and Roscommon
Met Eireann have issued a high temperature warning for 14 counties including Westmeath and Roscommon.
The nationwide high temperature warning has been issued for Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Tipperary.
The maximum temperatures expected are in excess of 27°C, with night-time minimums in excess of 15°C.
The current warning remains in place from Friday, July 11 at 12 noon to Saturday, July 12 at 6am, with another warning coming into effect from Saturday at 12 noon to Sunday at 6am.
Potential impacts of the hot weather include: Water safety issues due to increased use of lakes/beaches, forest fires a possibility, uncomfortable sleeping conditions, and heat stress.
