Winners of Shannonbridge GAA fundraiser revealed as €80k goal reached
The Shannonbridge GAA community gym fundraiser has taken place, as the fundraising goal of €80,000 was reached.
The draw took place on Friday, July 11, revealing a total of seven lucky winners.
Proceeds of the fundraiser went towards developing a brand new purpose built community gym, with new equipment for both players and other members of the community to enjoy.
The fundraiser description read: "Shannonbridge GAA club has been at the heart of the community for the past 50 years. We have flourished as a club both on and off the field throughout this time, achieving some massive milestones. Our club has three key aims: 1. To be ingrained in the fabric of our community. 2. To give the best opportunities to all of our players & members. 3. To provide the best facilities to our community.
"With these aims in mind, we have decided to erect and fit out the Shannonbridge GAA Community Gym to serve our players and the wider community."
The winners of the raffle were revealed on Friday last in a draw which was livestreamed on Facebook.
1st Prize - €5,000: Glinsk SEC; 2nd Prize - €2,000: Philip Egan; 3rd Prize - €1,000: Tara Hynes; 4th Prize - €1,000: Gina Rigney; 5th Prize - €1,000: Eileen Quinn; 6th Prize - AI Football Tickets & Hotel Stay: Laura Seery; 7th Prize - AI Hurling Tickets & Hotel Stay: John McHugh.
The club said: "Firstly, a massive thank you to all who bought and sold tickets for the Shannonbridge GAA Club Community Gym Development Draw. We have surpassed our target of €80,000, and will inform you in the near future of the final figure raised."
