Athlone GAA club has extended its congratulations to local man Gearóid Ó’Duibhir after he won the top prize in its fundraising draw for a VIP All Ireland hurling final package.

Fittingly, Gearóid is from Clonmel in Tipperary originally. The Athlone resident is heavily involved in Southern Gaels Hurling & Camogie, and teaches in Scoil na gCeithre Máistrí.

His attractive prize for winning the draw is two tickets for Sunday's hurling final, a hotel stay in the Hyatt Centric in Dublin, pre-match breakfast and €500 in spending money.

"Thank you to all who supported our draw, it is appreciated," stated Athlone GAA Club, adding that tickets are still available here for its All Ireland Football Final VIP Package Draw.

All funds will raised go towards the club's redevelopment project at Pairc Chiarain.
